Scotch® rubber mastic tape 2228 is a 65 mil thickness, premium-grade, highly conformable self-fusing rubber electrical insulating and sealing tape. Scotch® rubber mastic tape 2228 consisting of an ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) backing coated with an aggressive, temperature-stable mastic adhesive on a liner. Designed for electrical insulating and moisture sealing, intended for both indoor and weather exposed outdoor applications including resistance to UV exposure.
3M Scotch 2228 black insulating tape comes in a 2 in width, 10 ft length, uses a mastic adhesive and is packaged 1 roll per inner, 10 rolls per case. Can be used to a maximum temperature of +194 F. One of the unique features of this insulating tape is the elongation capabilities. The 3M Scotch 2228 insulating tape can be stretched 1000 % for breaking. Provides a tensile strength of 150 lb/in. Many tape products can have either conductive or insulating properties which are used across a variety of applications. This insulating tape is electrically insulating.
