Product Overview
CRL 1/4 Round Fillet Backer Rod, like the round backer rod, is a closed-cell polyethylene foam backer rod cut into a one quarter round configuration from a one half inch round rod. It limits the depth of the sealant preventing excessive sealant use, as well as helping the sealant assume an optimum parabolic curve shape to prolong sealant service life and reduce bond line stress. While designed for use in fillet (90 degree) joints, it can be used in many applications where a small closed cell backer rod is required. Place a small bead of sealant to tack the fillet in place prior to applying the sealant bead over it.
Other round (1/2 Round Rod) and round sizes are available on special order. 1/2 Round Rod would be used behind the weatherseal in structural glazing applications.
1/4 Round Fillet is sold in 100 foot (3,048 centimeter) rolls or in 1,100 foot (33,528 centimeter) rolls packed inside a convenient to use carton.

Do not tear, puncture, crease, over compress or stretch during insertion. Always use the correct size backer rod for the particular application. Do not use with hot applied sealants or hot melt adhesives where their surface temperature is over 160º°F (71º°C).
