Product Overview
This National Guard Products (NGP) 178SA overlapping astragal is designed to seal the gap between the meeting stiles of a pair of doors, preventing the infiltration of air, light, smoke, and sound. Constructed from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with a black Siloxane synthetic rubber (silicone) seal, it offers excellent flexibility, memory, and resistance to flame, moisture, ozone, UV, and aging. The astragal features an anodized aluminum finish and operates effectively across a temperature range of -100°F to 500°F. It measures 85 inches in length, with a 5/16 inch profile height, 1-5/8 inches width, and a 1/4 inch projection. It is BHMA Certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.22 performance tests for heat and cold, is rated for air infiltration to ASTM E283, and is recommended for areas utilizing FM200 or Halon fire suppression systems. Installation fasteners (#10 X 3" SMS) are included.
