Product Overview
This Airex Manufacturing E-Flex Guard is a protective cover designed for HVAC line set and outdoor pipe insulation, shielding it from weather, UV radiation, physical damage, and pests. Constructed from an engineered PVC material, it functions as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture damage to insulation and piping while meeting ASTM G153 for weatherization and UV exposure, and ASTM E-96 for water/vapor permeability. The protector features a dual-bonded hook and loop fastening system, reinforced with UV-resistant nylon cable ties, allowing for quick, secure, and reusable installation for maintenance. It is fire-rated with an ASTM E84/UL 723 Flame & Smoke Rating of 25/450, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal (ASTM G21 compliant). Measuring 6 feet in length and colored black, this protector is specifically designed to fit 1/2-inch wall thickness pipe insulation and complies with 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2021 IECC energy codes for piping insulation protection.
