Company Profile 

AJM Packaging is a leading manufacturer of high-quality branded and private-label paper products, including paper plates, bowls, cups, and bags. It was started by three brothers from Detroit – Jack, Abram, and Morris. In 1957, they founded AJM Packaging Corporation. The company has its headquarters in a red brick building on Dix Avenue in Detroit, where they are still engaged in manufacturing goods. They purchased their first plate and bag machines and began converting their paper products. Over the last 63 years, AJM Packaging has grown into one of the nation's leading manufacturers of premium-quality branded and private-label paper products, including paper plates, bowls, cups, and bags.

How It Began 

AJM's story began in Detroit in 1918. Three brothers from Detroit – Jack, Abram, and Morris' family owned a neighborhood grocery store beneath their small apartment. Despite many good years, the company's grocery business shuttered before the crash of 1929. The brothers pitched in to keep the company afloat; even the young boys unloaded the trucks, stocked the shelves, and took out the garbage. The family remained in the food industry, distributing produce and beer and driving trucks. After WWII, they began distributing paper products together.  

Where It Is Today 

In 1993, the company's reigns were passed on to Abram's son, Robert. Today, AJM Packaging Corporation is a 3rd generation family-owned and family-run business, and it is committed to providing the reliable service that has been important to the company since the day Abram, Jack, and Morris started the business. AJM packaging strives to put the needs of its customer first, today, tomorrow, and always. The company has created thousands of manufacturing jobs in the USA with eight strategically located manufacturing sites.
