Product Overview
This B&K model 457-008NL pipe cap is a 2-inch nominal pipe size (NPS) fitting manufactured from red brass, designed to permanently seal the end of a piping system. Constructed from an alloy predominantly of copper, along with tin and zinc, red brass offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for potable water, gas, and steam applications. The cap features Female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads, conforming to ASME B1.20.1 standards for general purpose pipe threads. Its lead-free composition, indicated by the 'NL' in the model number, ensures compliance with lead-free plumbing requirements such as NSF/ANSI 372, which mandates a weighted average lead content of ≤0.25% in wetted surface
