Product Overview
The B&K 521-951HC is a black malleable iron hex reducing bushing designed for connecting pipes of different nominal pipe sizes. This fitting features a 1-inch NPT (National Pipe Taper) male thread on one end and a 1/4-inch NPT female thread on the other. Manufactured from malleable iron conforming to ASTM A197 and with dimensions typically meeting ASME B16.3 or B16.14 standards, its threads comply with ASME B1.20.1. The fitting is hydrostatically tested and protected from corrosion with a varnish coating. It is rated for a maximum pressure of 150 psi and is UL and FM certified. Black malleable iron fittings, identified by their natural black oxide finish, are suitable for use in non-potable water, gas, oil, steam, and fire sprinkler systems. They are not recommended for use with drinking water due to the potential for rust and water contamination.
