Product Overview
The B&K 587-180HC is a pre-cut, threaded black steel pipe, also known as a ready-cut pipe joint. Constructed from carbon steel, this pipe features a 1-1/2 inch Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and a length of 18 inches, conforming to standard (SCH 40) pipe specifications. Its surface is characterized by a dark oxide scale, which forms during the manufacturing process. Designed with threaded ends, it facilitates straightforward connections in various systems. Black steel pipe is commonly utilized for conveying natural gas, propane, air, and steam, as well as in fire protection systems and certain structural applications. It is not recommended for potable water applications due to its susceptibility to corrosion without additional treatment.
