Product Overview
The B&K Mueller 587-300HC is a pre-cut length of black steel pipe, manufactured from carbon steel. This pipe features a 1-1/2 inch Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and a length of 30 inches. Both ends are threaded for easy connection within a piping system. Typically produced to Schedule 40 wall thickness, black steel pipe is characterized by its dark iron oxide finish, which forms during manufacturing. It is commonly utilized in various applications such as natural gas, propane, compressed air, and low-pressure steam lines, as well as fire sprinkler systems. This material is generally not recommended for potable water due to its susceptibility to corrosion. The pipe often complies with ASTM A53 specifications for welded and seamless steel pipe.
