This B&K (B&K Mueller) 587-360HC pre-cut black steel pipe is constructed from low-grade mild steel or carbon steel, featuring an inherent black iron oxide finish. With a Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) of 1-1/2 inches and an approximate 1.900 inch outside diameter, this pipe measures 36 inches in length. It is supplied with National Pipe Tapered (NPT) threads on both ends, adhering to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards for secure connections. Primarily utilized in plumbing for conveying natural gas, propane, compressed air, and in fire sprinkler systems, it is also suitable for specific non-potable water, oil, and steam applications. Black steel pipe is generally rated to withstand at least 150 psi when properly installed.
