Product Overview
The B&K 995-000 dishwasher air gap features a durable PVC plastic body with a chrome-plated cap. This plumbing device is designed to prevent the backflow of wastewater from the sink or drain line into the dishwasher's fresh water supply, maintaining hygiene and preventing cross-contamination. It also provides an alternate drainage route, directing water into the sink in the event of a clogged drain hose. Commonly installed on a countertop or sink deck, this air gap fits standard 1-1/2-inch predrilled kitchen sink holes. Its installation is often mandated by local plumbing codes, including the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) in many regions.
