The Boshart Industries UBRN-1260 is a Schedule 40 seamless red brass pipe nipple, measuring 1-1/4 inches Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) by 6 inches in length. Constructed from C23000 red brass alloy, which contains a high copper content (85% copper, 15% zinc), this nipple offers enhanced corrosion resistance against water, salt water, and minerals compared to yellow brass. It is lead-free, complying with stringent safety guidelines including California AB-1953, Vermont SB-152 legislation, and certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 standards. The nipple features National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads that conform to ASME B1.20.1 and ANSI B1.20.1 standards. Its material adheres to ASTM B43 specifications, while dimensions conform to ASTM B687 for pipe nipples. This fitting is suitable for low to medium pressure fluid transfer systems involving water, oil, natural gas, and air lines, particularly in high corrosion environments like underground installations, wells, basements, or other damp areas.
