Product Overview
When our boat is running higher or above the water's surface, a high rake aids the propeller in producing impulse and aids in the effective elevation of the bow, resulting in a reduction of hull wetted surfaces and an ultimate speed. However, there is another explanation for the higher speed. Because the bottom unit is exposed less to the water, a high rake allows the engine higher, lowering the hydrodynamic resistance of the lower unit.
