C. E. SMITH Multi-Sport Plus 48870 Trailer Offers a longer tongue and larger tires than the 48810. This trailer includes everything needed to carry a small boat, inflatable, or PWC up to 14 ft long. The multi-sport plus trailer's frame is built to carry up to an 800 lb load and includes DOT approved lights, a pair of 5 ft adjustable carpeted bunk boards with dual adjustable support, winch stand, winch hook and strap, and a hitch coupler with safety chains. The 4.80 x 12" tires are rated for use at highway speeds, and the winch stand can be mounted anywhere along the 86" tongue to balance the load because a properly balanced load is critical for safe trailering. A trailer is properly balanced when the tires are carrying 85% of the gross vehicle weight with the remaining 15% carried by the hitch ball. For example: trailer + boat + motor + gas + all gear, etc. = 600lbs, then the load must be moved forward or backward on the trailer such that the hitch ball is carrying 90lbs (600 x 0.15 = 90lbs).
