Product Overview
A capacitor discharge ignition, also known as a CDI, is a type of electronic ignition that holds a charge before discharging it through an ignition coil to ignite the spark plugs in a gasoline engine with great force. The capacitor charge provides the ignition. The capacitor merely charges and discharges in a brief period, allowing sparks to be well-produced. A capacitor is well-charged by an electrical current, which causes a capacitor discharge ignition. This kind of ignition quickly develops a charge. A CDI ignition first creates a charge and stores it before releasing it to the spark plug to light the engine. This power travels through a capacitor to an ignition coil, which serves as a transformer and increases the power by letting the energy pass through it rather than absorbing it. As a result, the CDI ignition systems enable the engine to continue operating for as long as the power source is well-charged. Below is a block diagram of CDI. Key Features: Enable the electrical system that is normally connected to an internal combustion engine to receive power. By running a current through a capacitor, it operates.
