The Door Controls USA EDTBARSVR44-DU is a surface vertical rod panic exit device engineered for secure emergency egress from commercial and institutional doorways. When the push bar is depressed, it simultaneously retracts the top and bottom latches from their strikes, ensuring immediate unlocking and an unobstructed exit path. This device is designed to accommodate doors up to 44 inches wide and features a dark bronze (duronodic) finish. These types of exit devices are typically UL Listed and ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certified, signifying high durability and performance for demanding applications. Many panic devices include dogging functionality, allowing the latches to be temporarily held retracted for periods of heavy traffic. This hardware is generally suitable for 1-3/4 inch thick wood or hollow metal doors.
