The E-Z Weld CLP-1 purple primer/cleaner is a fast-acting, low-VOC solvent blend designed to clean, soften, and swell PVC and CPVC pipe and fitting surfaces. This preparation is essential for creating strong solvent cement bonds in plumbing systems. The distinctive purple tint allows for visual verification of application, which is often a requirement of plumbing codes. This product is supplied in a 1 quart (32 oz) can with an integrated dauber for convenient application. It meets ASTM F656 standards for primers used in solvent cement joints of PVC and CPVC plastic pipe and fittings, ensuring suitability for both pressure and non-pressure systems. Additionally, it complies with NSF/ANSI 61, making it approved for use in potable water applications. The primer is effective in an application temperature range of -10°F to 110°F (-23°C to 43°C) and has a shelf life of 3 years in an unopened can.
