The Falcon SC61A-RW/PA-AL is a light to medium-duty surface mounted door closer, part of the SC60 Series, designed for commercial applications such as aluminum storefronts, small businesses, and office buildings. It features a non-handed design suitable for both left and right-swinging doors, with adjustable spring power sizes from 1 through 5. Constructed with a single-piece cast aluminum body, it incorporates a 1-3/8 inch heat-treated steel piston, heat-treated pinion, and staked valves for durability and leak prevention. The closer offers adjustable general speed, latch speed, and backcheck. It supports tri-pack mounting (regular, top jamb, or parallel arm configurations) and includes a parallel arm bracket and universal screw pack for wood, hollow metal, and aluminum doors. This model is certified ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade 1, UL listed, compliant with UL10C and UBC 7-2 (1997) for fire-rated assemblies, and meets ANSI A117.1 for ADA accessibility. It is finished in aluminum painted (BHMA 689) and is retrofittable to the Norton 1600 hole pattern. The Falcon SC61A-RW/PA-AL accommodates interior doors up to 60 inches wide and exterior doors up to 42 inches wide and comes with a 10-year warranty. It was formerly known as the Dor-O-Matic SC60.
