Product Overview
The Fernco P1002-44RC flexible pipe coupling, part of the 1002RC Series, is designed to connect 4-inch nominal clay pipe to 4-inch nominal cast iron, plastic (PVC, ABS), steel, or lead pipes. Constructed with an elastomeric polyvinyl chloride (PVC) body, it features a 0.012-inch thick stainless steel shear band and 300 series stainless steel clamps for corrosion resistance and durability. This coupling creates a positive, leak-proof, and root-proof seal, resisting chemicals, ultraviolet rays, fungus growth, and normal sewer gases. It is suitable for drain, waste, and vent applications, engineered to withstand heavy earth loads and shear forces while maintaining pipe alignment. Installation requires a 5/16-inch nut driver or slotted screwdriver, with an installation torque of 60 inch-lbs. It performs within a temperature range of -30°F to 140°F and has a maximum test pressure of 4.3 PSI. This coupling conforms to ASTM D 5926, ASTM C 1173, CSA B602 standards, and is UPC approved. The overall dimensions are apoximately 4.51 x 5.36 inches.
