Product Overview
Marelon Tailpieces provide a cost-effective, corrosion-resistant method of joining hose lines to ball valves and seacocks. Molded from lightweight, high-strength Marelon, these Tailpieces are highly resistant to corrosion, UV degradation and abrasion. Their NPS parallel threads can be sealed with Teflon tape or plumber's putty. Any marine-grade sealant or bedding compound can be used as you would with bronze fittings. In fact, Marelon and bronze fittings can be fitted together as long as you are careful not to cross thread. Marelon is UV stabilized and will not deteriorate in sunlight. These tailpieces can be used above- or below-the-waterline and exceed Marine UL and ABYC standards. Marelon Tailpieces feature hose barbs on one end (size given as inside diameter or ID) and male NPS threads on the other end. Threads are parallel "NPS," which stands for "Nominal Pipe Size."
