Aluminum anchors offer an economical option over heavy, rust-prone steel anchors An easy-to-handle alternative to heavy steel anchors, Guardian Aluminum Anchors feature lightweight, corrosion-resistant, aluminum-magnesium alloy construction and a precise 32 degree fluke angle. Guardian anchors are made from the same high tensile, corrosion-resistant aluminum-magnesium alloy and manufacturing precision as Fortress anchors. Components are not anodized and are slightly smaller than the Fortress anchor, but just like the Fortress, the weldless design maximizes strength and they easily disassemble for compact storage or parts replacement. Made in USA. All Guardian Aluminum Anchors feature Mud Palms designed to help the anchor set faster in any type of sea bottom. Mud Palms create a "lift" to the crown of the anchor, causing the flukes to point more directly to the seabed. This helps the anchor set faster...in any bottom. A few things to consider are that the Guardian is less effective on rocky or grassy bottoms and its light weight makes small sizes "sail" under water if your boat is drifting backwards quickly.
