The Goldblatt G06150 Cast Magnesium Hand Float is a tool designed for smoothing, leveling, and compacting freshly poured concrete surfaces. Constructed from cast magnesium, it features a lightweight yet durable blade that resists warping and is easy to clean. This float measures 16 inches long by 3-1/2 inches wide and has a beveled end with a pre-broken-in blade and rounded corners to minimize gouging during use. Magnesium floats are preferred in concrete finishing as they prevent premature sealing of the concrete surface, allowing bleed water to evaporate naturally and reducing the risk of delamination or scaling. It is typically used after screeding and before troweling to embed aggregate and bring cement paste to the surface, leaving an open texture. The tool is equipped with a comfortable wood handle for user control and comfort.
