Product Overview
The Hillman Fasteners 370090 toggle bolt is a steel hollow wall anchor designed for securely fastening items to various base materials. This 5/16 inch diameter, 6 inch long bolt is commonly used in drywall, hollow block, plaster, wallboard, tile, plywood, and light gauge steel. It features spring-action wings, typically made from AISI 1008-1010 cold rolled steel and often zinc-finished, that fold for insertion into a pre-drilled hole. Once through the material, the wings spring open, spreading the load over a larger area to provide a firm and strong hold. Installation involves threading the bolt through the fixture, attaching the wings, inserting the assembly until the wings deploy, pulling back to engage the wings against the back of the material, and then tightening the bolt.
