The Hillman 370194 Short Lag Shield Anchor is an expansion-type fastener designed for use with lag screws in hard masonry materials such as brick, concrete, and hollow block. Constructed from a zinc alloy (Zamac or zinc die-cast), this anchor provides secure anchorage for medium-duty applications like shelves, window frames, and plumbing systems. The "short" length is optimal for harder base materials, reducing drilling time compared to longer versions. When a lag screw is driven into the anchor, its four-way expansion mechanism creates a tight grip within the pre-drilled hole, preventing over-expansion and ensuring a secure, vibration-resistant connection. Installation requires pre-drilling and no lubrication. The anchor remains in the base material, allowing for the removal and reinstallation of the lag screw and fixture. This box contains 20 anchors, each compatible with a 3/8-inch lag screw.
