Product Overview
The Hillman Fasteners 48891 is a self-drilling, self-tapping screw designed for wood construction applications. It features a Phillips drive and a wafer head with countersinking ribs, along with a #2 self-drilling point. The screw is 8 gauge in diameter and 1-5/8 inches long. It is coated with a gray ceramic finish, consisting of multiple layers of zinc and polymer-based coatings, which provides rust and corrosion protection, exceeding 1000 hours in the ASTM B117 salt spray test. This fastener is recommended for use with ACQ, CA, and CCA treated lumber, as well as cedar and redwood construction. It conforms with I.C.C.-E.S. reports for triple-coated zinc polymer fasteners in contact with treated wood. The screws are supplied in a 5 lb box.
