The Jonathan Green Black Beauty Rocky Mountain Grass Seed Mix (MPN 10383) is a cool-season turf blend formulated for high-altitude, semi-arid climates found in the Rocky Mountain states, including Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming. This 7 lb mixture contains proprietary Black Beauty turf-type tall fescues, Blue Panther Kentucky bluegrass, and elite perennial ryegrass. It produces a dark-green, dense, and drought-resistant lawn suitable for full sun to partial shade areas receiving at least five hours of sunlight daily. The deep-rooted varieties can extend up to 4 feet, featuring a waxy leaf coating to conserve moisture and resist insects and diseases. It withstands heavy traffic, requires less maintenance, and typically germinates in 10 to 14 days. A 7 lb bag covers up to 1750 sq ft for new lawns or 3500 sq ft for overseeding.
