Product Overview
The Keedex K-17 Security Guide and Bolt is a steel component designed to reinforce door security by replacing weaker, often plastic, flush bolts and guides. Manufactured by Keedex, this part is made of steel and finished with cadmium plating, which provides exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and alkaline environments, by offering sacrificial protection to the underlying steel. Cadmium plating, typically an electrodeposited layer between 0.0002 and 0.001 inches thick, also imparts lubricity, reduces friction, and prevents galling and seizing of moving parts. It is ductile, resistant to mold, and compatible with aluminum to prevent galvanic corrosion. Self-tapping screws are included for installation.
