The 2-step design releases the saw and pilot bit without requiring additional tools. The collar snaps into each position, to allow for single-handed operation, and is reinforced to stay engaged while drilling. LENOX snap-back quick change arbors are universally compatible** with all threaded hole saws and do not require adaptors for use.
