The MPS Shaft Grounding Strap connects a vessels driveshafts to the vessels bonding system for effective connection to hull anodes. This removes the requirement for shaft anodes on composite and wooden boats. With 11 positioning holes and multiple positioning locations for the spring, the shaft grounding strap is easy to install and flexible enough for most applications. The large surface area of connection improves cathodic protection efficiencies and will assist with improved outcomes on coating longevity by maximizing the connection between shaft and anode. On metallic vessels the strap is ideal for creating an additional connection to anodes on the hull for redundancy and balancing of cathodic currents. Imbalances of cathodic protection levels (voltage) between hull, stern tube and shafts can contribute to stern tube corrosion and crevice corrosion on the shaft. Creating equilibrium can help reduce these effects. The Commercial Shaft Grounding Strap is adjustable and is suited to 3-6-inch shaft diameter size.
