The CRL Makita® 12" (305 mm) Cold Cutting Metal Chop Saw uses special dry cutting carbide saw blades for cutting mild steel and stainless steel (with optional Cat. No. A91039 Blade sold separately) with virtually no sparking, no burring, and no heat discoloring. Saw comes with a fixed angle head with an adjustable fence/clamp stop to allow 0 - 45 degree cutting. It is powered by a 15 Amp, 1300 RPM motor.
Using the included A90532 Blade the LC1230 will cut through mild steel with ease. This saw and blade combination requires no lubrication or coolant. LC1230 comes standard with one A90532 60 tooth carbide blade which should only be used to cut mild steel. To cut thin gauge steel and stainless steel, such as cladding, you should order our Cat. No. A91039 Blade separately. It is not included with the LC1230.
NOTE: The low RPM and closed tooth design of the blade will not work on aluminum.
Product Warning:
Gloves and safety glasses should always be worn when operating any saw. Never operate in wet environments.
THIS SAW AND BLADE COMBINATION SHOULD NEVER BE USED ON ALUMINUM OR THIN GAUGE STEEL OR STAINLESS STEEL. The low RPM and closed tooth design of the blade will not work on aluminum.
