The Marwin Atlas Series Attic Stairs, model A-81ESR5FT, provide insulated access to attic spaces for ceilings up to 10 ft in height. Designed for a 22-1/2" x 54" rough opening, these stairs feature a 250 lb duty rating. Constructed from high-grade, kiln-dried yellow pine lumber, they include a 1x4 frame, 1x4 stringers, and 1x4 dadoed and nailed treads with safety grooves and a steel rod underneath. Galvanized steel hardware with a safety edge, a full-width continuous hinge, and adjustable spring tension ensure smooth operation. A clear plywood panel and an R-5 insulating package enhance energy efficiency. For safety, a strong metal handrail is securely bolted, and the unit requires 77 inches of swing clearance and 66 inches of landing space. This product meets or exceeds ANSI 14.9 code requirements.
