Product Overview
The Maxwell Marine RC101012V RC10 Series Vertical Rope/Chain Windlass is an automatic anchoring system designed for use on cruising yachts, launches, pilothouse vessels, and light commercial vessels. Constructed with 316 marine-grade stainless steel topworks and a marine-grade hard anodized alloy gearbox, it operates on a 12V DC power supply with a 1200W motor. The windlass is engineered to handle 3/8-inch (10mm) short link chain (HT/BBB or metric) and 5/8-inch (16mm) three-strand or 8-plait rope. It provides a maximum pull of 1870 lbs (850 kg) and a working load of 625 lbs, with retrieval speeds of approximately 79 ft/min for chain and 65 ft/min for rope. Key features include a patented Wave Design™ rope/chain gypsy for accommodating various chain pitches and ensuring smooth rope-to-chain transition, dual-direction power operation, and a cone-type clutch/brake mechanism fo"free fall" anchoring. The two-piece design simplifies installation and retrofitting, making it suitable for boats typically ranging from 30 to 52 feet.
