It features a 1/4 inch nominal pipe size and an overall length of 5 inches, manufactured from Type 304 stainless steel. The nipple is Schedule 40, indicating its wall thickness. It has NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads on both ends, which conform to ASME B1.20.1 standards, ensuring a tapered fit for reliable sealing in mechanical and fluid-handling applications when used with an appropriate sealant. The material conforms to ASTM A312/SA312 for seamless or welded austenitic stainless steel pipe. Its dimensions adhere to ASTM A733, the standard specification for pipe nipples, and ASME B36.19, which defines stainless steel pipe dimensions. Type 304 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy containing a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, providing good corrosion resistance to various acids and making it suitable for applications in food processing, dairy, brewing, citrus industries, and certain marine environments.
