To apply, shake evenly on the soil to distribute granules atop the soil surface. For in-ground plants, mix into the top 1-3 inches of soil. When using with potted plants, mix at the recommended rate throughout the soil. Water to start feeding. To keep your plants healthy, let soil mix dry to the touch between waterings.
