The M.K. Morse 116442 Advanced Bi-Metal Hole Saw is engineered for cutting circular holes through various materials. This bi-metal hole saw features an M42 high-speed steel cutting edge with 8% cobalt, electron beam welded to a tough steel backer for enhanced durability. It has a 2-3/4" (70mm) diameter and a cutting depth of 1-15/16" (49.2mm). The saw includes a built-in 3/8" hex shank arbor and a 1/4" high-speed steel pilot drill. Its variable pitch 5/6 teeth per inch with a positive rake angle, combined with a patented tooth set design, optimize for faster material removal and reduced vibration. Additional features include a solid cap for reduced runout and a heavy-duty 0.050" side wall for greater stability. An enhanced side slot provides increased leverage for easier slug removal, and a red exterior coating helps reduce sidewall friction during operation. This hole saw is suitable for cutting wood, plastic, and machinable metals, including nail-embedded wood, plywood, pipe, stainless steel alloys, composites, drywall, and rubber.
