Product Overview

E-style retaining rings have 3 prongs that make contact with the shaft and provide a wider shoulder for a larger retaining surface. C-style (Crescent) external retaining rings have a tapered section and creates a low-profile shoulder and is recommended for applications where clearance is at a minimum. Use a side-mount retaining ring tool (sold separately) to push them into the groove from the side of the shaft. Ring outer diameter (OD) is measured with the ring uninstalled.
