Product Overview
Imagine it and it can be done with shock cord. Shock cord or bungee cord has almost unlimited uses aboard a sailboat or power boat. It s great for securing stowed gear and equipment, preventing stowed hatch boards from rattling, holding lockers or doors open, running rigging systems, hiking straps and much more. New England Ropes shock cord features a stranded rubber core with a highly abrasion resistant polyester cover and is available in a range of sizes and colors. Pick up some hooks, hogrings and other accessories to create custom tie downs, retracting systems, etc. Your imagination will be the only limiting factor. Shock cord works best when pre-stretched between 30% 80% of its length; the more pre-stretch built into your system the greater the pull the shock cord will have. When using hogrings, consider using heat shrink from our electrical department to cover the sharp ends of the rings and add a finished look to the installation. Eliminate the annoying hatch board rattle or hold open lockers for ventilation by building a custom system with bulk shock cord from New England Ropes.
