The Optex OAM-EXPLORER US is an industrial door sensor designed for both door activation and supplemental safety functions in demanding environments such as warehouses and loading docks. This unit utilizes dual technology, combining microwave Doppler effect detection for reliable door activation with active infrared reflection (AIR) for precise presence detection and safety at the door threshold. It operates on a power supply of 12-24 VAC or 12-30 VDC and can be mounted at heights ranging from 6'7" to 19'8". The sensor features an IP65 and NEMA 4 protection rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water, and functions across an operating temperature range of -31°F to 131°F. Configuration and fine-tuning are facilitated via a smartphone application using Bluetooth LE.
