These sanitizers also leave beneficial chlorine residual in the water that continually destroys new bacteria entering the pool, protecting swimmers from potentially harmful contaminants and therefore should be a critical part of any pool care program. Using a chlorinated sanitizer allows bathers to enjoy the benefits of a healthy pool and spa environment. Chlorinating tablets consists of a tableted form of stabilized chlorine known as trichloro-s-triazinetrione (trichloroisocyanuric acid), also known as TriChlor. Trichloroisocyanuric acid is an excellent, highly concentrated source of available chlorine and is primarily used as a disinfectant and sanitizer in pool water treatment.
