PET (or PETE) plastic stands for "Polyethylene Terephthalate." It is a thermoplastic polymer that is commonly used to make food containers like those 5 gal bottles that you see on water dispensers, but mostly, it is spun into fibers to make clothing. You may know it better as "polyester". Occasionally, PET is used in automotive plastic applications. PET plastic is used on some under-hood plastics. This package contains 30 ft (9.1 m) of PET plastic welding rods. Each rod measures 12 in (30 cm) long and is 1/8 in (3 mm) in dia. There are approximately 161 ft (49 m) in 1 lb (0.45 kg) of this 1/8 in Dia PET plastic welding rod.
