For a Pitman arm that measures 3 ½ inches wide at the steering box connection, you’ll need to check the jaw opening capacity of the oversize Pitman arm puller.
Most oversize pullers are designed with a jaw opening of up to 3 ½"–4", specifically to handle larger truck and heavy‑duty Pitman arms. If your Pitman arm is exactly 3 ½", a true oversize puller should be able to go around it — but a standard automotive puller (usually 2 ½"–3") would be too small.
