Hinge pin door stops are best suited for hollow core doors. While they can technically be installed on solid core doors, the weight and leverage of a heavier solid core door can bend the hinge pin or cause the rubber pad to punch through the door face or trim over time. For heavy solid core doors, a baseboard-mounted or floor-mounted stop is recommended.
