If the D&D Technologies LL3PWDRC LokkLatch Deluxe is unlocked, you release it from the outside by pressing down the outside latch handle/push button. The latch tongue retracts and the gate can be opened. If the latch has been locked from the opposite side, the outside control will not release it; the key must be used to unlock it first.
