Secure both shelves first using the appropriate shelf brackets and wall anchors. Place one half of the joiner plate behind the front lip of the shelf. Place the second half in front of the shelf lip, aligning the edges of both plates. Insert the bolt through the front plate. Install and tighten the nut from behind the rear plate.
