The Rust-Oleum Automotive Rubberized Undercoating is a convenient black protective coating designed for cars, trucks, trailers, and other vehicles. It provides corrosion protection against water, salt, and other chemicals while also dampening sound and acting as a barrier against rust. Here are the key points for applying it: Temperature Range for Application: Apply the undercoating when the temperature is between 50°F and 90°F (10°C to 32°C). Ensure that the humidity is below 85% during application. Avoid applying it to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F (93°C) or galvanized metal. Also, steer clear of very windy or dusty conditions. Cover the surrounding area to protect it from spray mist. Drying and Recoating Times: The undercoating dries to the touch in approximately 30 minutes. You can recoat it after 1-2 minutes. It fully dries within 24 hours. Application Tips: Use the undercoating outdoors or in a well-ventilated area (such as an open garage). Shake the can vigorously for one minute before use. Maintain a steady back-and-forth motion while spraying, slightly overlapping each stroke. For optimal results, apply two coats, allowing the product to dry for 1-2 minutes between coats. Remember to follow safety precautions and enjoy the benefits of a well-protected vehicle!
