Product Overview
The Refrigeration Research Inc. M1078 is a discharge line muffler designed for use in HVACR systems. This component reduces noise and pulsation generated by compressors within refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It features 7/8-inch Outer Diameter Solder (ODS) connections for brazing into the discharge line. Constructed from carbon steel, the muffler contains internal baffles and chambers that alter the velocity of discharge gases to dampen sound waves and smooth out gas pulsations. The unit weighs 2.6 pounds and is typically installed directly after the compressor, before the condenser, to maintain system efficiency and extend the lifespan of other system components.
