The Seymour Midwest LLC S500 Super Shovel, model 49164, is engineered for heavy-duty digging in challenging conditions. It features a 14 gauge, #2 high-carbon steel head with a forward-turned step, designed for secure foot placement and leverage. The blade incorporates cutting teeth to effectively penetrate hard-packed, rocky, and clay soils, and to chop through roots and sod. This shovel is equipped with a 29-inch precision lathe-turned hardwood handle, typically American Ash, for durability and comfort. A steel D-grip provides a secure hold, and the head is connected to the handle with a Power Collar and solid steel rivets for enhanced strength.
