Sierra water pump impellers are manufactured to stringent quality standards and are fully interchangeable with the OEM products they are designed to replace. Sierra manufacturers impellers and water pump repair kits for most outboard, inboard and sterndrive applications. Sierra impellers and water pump repair kits are designed to directly replace the original OEM parts. All parts are manufactured to stringent quality standards. The impeller is the heart of an engine's cooling system. Visual inspecton is recommended every year. Replacement is recommended every three years. Saltwater use and/or excessive use may make replacement advisable more often. Caution: Running an engine without water can damage an impeller in as little as 15 seconds. Always start your engine with the water intake valve open, or in the case of an I/O or outboard, with the water intake in the water or with engine flushing mitts attached.
