Sierra Nevada Bioenergy Eco Fuel Wood Fuel Pellets are made from pure, all-natural wood and are manufactured at the highest quality control levels, designating our wood fuel pellets as premium grade. Our fuel pellets produce a consistent, high BTU output and produce less than half of a percent of ash. This translates to a hotter, more efficient burn, which means less fuel pellets burned, fewer fuel pellets purchased, less space needed for storage, fewer trips to the fuel pellet hopper and less waste to clean up. Sierra Nevada Bioenergy Eco Fuel fuel pellets are extremely dense and are produced with a low humidity content (below 10%) which allows them to be burned with a very high combustion efficiency. Additionally, their regular geometry and small size allow automatic feeding with very fine calibration. They can be fed to a burner by auger feeding or by pneumatic conveying. The emission rate for fuel pellet stoves when using Sierra Nevada Bioenergy Eco Fuel Premium Wood Fuel Pellets is approximately 1.2 grams per hour, which falls well below the nationwide EPA regulation of less than 7.5 grams per hour. BTU (Heat Value): Although there is no formal specification for BTU value, the approximate value is 8,300 BTUs per pound with a possible deviation of +/- 3%. Value is based on as received basis, at respective moisture content. Many pellet manufacturers state the value on a dry basis (zero moisture). This gives them a higher, more desirable reading. However, since the pellets are not zero percent moisture, it is misleading information and is not the correct basis as set by the guidelines of the Pellet Fuels Institute.
