BASF Stucco Prime is a 100% acrylic-based primer for stucco STUCCO PRIME is used when preparing conventional stucco (brown coat) STUCCOBASE, STUCCOBASE PREMIX, Poured Concrete or Unit Masonry prior to the implementation of the BASF Wall Systems Finish Coat to help alleviate shadowing and enhance the performance of the Stucco Wall System. Reduces suction by cement base coats and cementitious substrates Tinted to finish color Improves water resistance of the wall Improves workability of finish coat implementation Creates better final appearance, alleviates shadowing of light-colored rilled finishes Reduces chances of efflorescence in stucco and other cementitious substrates Thoroughly mix the factory-prepared STUCCO PRIME with a paddle and drill to a uniform consistency. A small amount of clean, potable water may be added to adjust workability. Additives are not permitted. Close container when not in use. Clean tools with soap and water immediately after use. Substrate shall be clean, dry, sound and free of paint, contaminants or other residue or coatings. Verify substrate is flat, free of fins or planar irregularities greater than 6.4 mm in 3 m (1/4" in 10 ). Ensure stucco has been cured a minimum of 6 days prior to implementation of STUCCO PRIME. Apply STUCCO PRIME to substrate with a sprayer, 10 mm (3/8") nap roller, or good quality latex paint brush at a rate of approximately 3.6 6.1 m2 per liter (150 250 ft2per gallon). STUCCO PRIME shall be dry to the touch before proceeding to the BASF Wall Systems Finish Coat implementation. Protect BASF Wall Systems materials during transportation and installation to avoid physical damage. Store BASF Wall Systems materials in a cool, dry place protected from freezing. Store at no less than 4?_C (40?_F). Protect from extreme heat and direct sunlight. Shelf life is two years when unopened and stored as directed. Do not apply BASF Wall Systems materials in ambient temperatures below 4?_C (40?_F). Provide supplementary heat during installation and drying period (at least 24 hours after installation and until dry) when temperatures less than 4?_C (40?_F) prevail. Do not apply BASF Wall Systems materials to frozen surfaces. Approximate coverage rate: 69.6 116.1 m (750 1,250ft ) per pail. Coverage will vary greatly depending on porosity and condition of surface.
